Meet Laura!
Laura is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). After graduating from the University of Waterloo with Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Health Studies, she continued her education at McMaster University's Masters of Speech Language Pathology program, graduating in 2020.
Since then, Laura has worked to improve communication skills with people as old as 98 and as young as 6 months. She currently works as a school board SLP, in addition to her time at Kids Can Speak. She feels honoured to work with children to support their communication development-- from first words to pronouncing all the sounds in their name!
Laura has experience working with children with language and literacy delays, articulation and motor speech disorders, stuttering, augmentative and alternative communication, voice and social communication skills. She has supported communication development in individuals with various developmental diagnoses, including autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, cleft lip and palate, and a variety of rare genetic syndromes.
